Conference Dinner

The conference dinner for EPC05 will be a Chinese banquet at the Red Emperor restaurant. The Red Emperor is recognised as one of Melbourne's finest Chinese restaurants, winning two of a possible three chef's hats in the Age Good Food Guide and plaudits from reviewers. It is located in Melbourne's Southbank precinct, on the Yarra river, opposite Federation Square, with a panoramic view of the Melbourne skyline. It is a short tram ride or a comfortable walk from the Ibis Hotel to the restaurant.

The dinner will be on Saturday, April 2, at 7.30 p.m.

Cost is $60 per head, including wine for each table.

(A vegetarian option is available. Please indicate if you want the vegetarian option at the time of registration).

For further details, click on Red Emperor.

Southbank is most easily reached by tram on Swanston Street. Swanston Street is the first main street east (right) along Victoria Street from the Ibis Hotel. Catch a tram south (away from the university), through the city, to Federation Square. Cross St Kilda road, cross the Yarra River, and Southbank is on your right, beside the river. The Red Emperor is located on the upper level of the Southgate Complex, just as you enter Southbank. If you have booked for the dinner, your satchel will contain a Metcard tram ticket which is good for travel to and from the dinner. Tickets must be validated each time you board a tram in the green validation machines. Failure to validate your ticket before travel can result in a hefty fine. If your tram ticket is validated AFTER 6.00 pm, it will be valid until the end of services for that day. Click here for details.

Please note that it will not be possible to buy tickets for the dinner at the time of the conference. If you wish to come to the dinner and have not yet booked, please download a copy of the registration form from the conference web site, fill in the dinner section only, and fax or mail it to us. We will accept bookings for the dinner until Friday March 18.
